Fitchburg Forge-In
Coordinated by community volunteers, the Annual Fitchburg Forge-In Blacksmith Art & Music Festival has successfully showcased artisans from New England. Since 2003, we have welcomed over 10,000 visitors to our festival, and we expect many more this year.
The Festival is geared toward promoting the craft of blacksmithy and the arts. The exciting Forge-In live competition, where blacksmiths create preset projects using traditional fire and anvil methods, makes this an unusual event. Live music, arts and crafts vendors, and other events.
Admission to the Festival is FREE and made possible by the generous contributions of many businesses, individuals, and organizations. We highlight this event to the public on every calendar in the region and some nationwide as one of the premier festivals in New England. We can’t wait to see you there!
This year’s guest judge and demonstrator will be Willow Zietman.
Willow is an artist blacksmith from Lunenburg, MA, and an instructor at Prospect Hill Forge in Waltham. Drawing inspiration from the animals on her farm and the fairy tales she reads to her daughter, Willow creates work that strives for elegance, humor, and cuteness. For Willow, blacksmithing is about using traditional forging and sculpting techniques to bring life and whimsy to traditionally forged ironwork. Her work focuses on the details and quirks that evoke laughter or a smile. As of November 2023, Willow is a Forged in Fire Champion (History Channel, season 10, episode 7)
The deadline to pre-register is September 10th, 2025. On-site registration will be an added $25.00 fee if extra kits are available.
